This rooster carving is from the Baule people of Côte d'Ivoire.
The Baule tribe is an African people inhabiting Côte d’Ivoire between the Comoé and Bandama rivers. They are an Akan group, speaking a Tano language of the Kwa branch of the Niger-Congo language family.
