This colorful box depicts Christmas in the highlands of Peru. Alejandro Chávez crafts a traditional Ayacucho-style retablo, a diorama housed in a colorful wood box. The Holy Family, a sheep and a cow are modeled of clay and painted by hand. Beneath them, shepherds and their llamas kneel in a joyful folk art nativity scene.
